My Story
Jennifer Payne is the Owner/Founder of Centennial Smart Books LLC based in Centennial, Colorado. Ms. Payne has an extensive and diverse financial background that includes banking, asset management, private equity, start-up consulting, and non-profit business management. She decided to leave the full-time corporate world in 2007 when her daughter was 2 years old, but remained professionally engaged by supporting a start-up company that needed part-time help with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, accounts receivable and accounts payable. She also utilized her financial and management skills by volunteering with several non-profit educational and community organizations.
In 2016 Ms. Payne began working with a small non-profit that was struggling with financial and business issues. What started off as a volunteer role turned into a professional engagement. Although the company was struggling, Ms. Payne found it enjoyable to partner and work with the board and organization’s leaders to help them become a stronger, financially healthy entity.
This situation highlighted the need for financial expertise in a small business. Owners and creators of their companies are experts in their field and are busy running their business, but they typically do not have the time or background to create budgets, run financial analysis’, A/R, A/P, utilize all of the features of QuickBooks Online, invoicing, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and managing the tax return process.
